Our Management Team
Aaron Soroka
Founder & Director
Aaron is a business technology expert with almost two decades of experience consulting with, and supporting businesses and government agencies of all sizes. He founded NorthSky Technology in 2010 to be an IT company that actually delivered on the promise of professionalism, responsive service, and strong business ethics. Aaron’s diverse experience ranges from managing operations and IT infrastructure at multiple fast-moving startups, to working in management at a Fortune 500 company overseeing their Minneapolis-area business and branch government technology accounts.
It is certainly not all work for Aaron. Faith, family, and friends occupy most of his time outside of the office. Traveling is a passion, craft brews are a favorite indulgence, and cooking is cherished skill - Aaron also has a degree in Culinary Arts, and honed those skills in Austria!
Michael Varian, CEH
Managing Director
Michael excels at developing and deploying modern technology to support, secure, and automate businesses. His diverse tactical experience includes serving as a Board Member, CEO, CTO, COO, and CFO in a variety of industries including custom software development, payment processing, website design and development, loyalty and marketing services, consulting, church administration, online marketing, and business technology.
Notably, he has served major roles in the rollout of the PCI-DSS, spoken at national security conferences, and been quoted in numerous publications reaching over 100 countries. Michael has singlehandedly designed and built B2B software, products, and systems that have fulfilled tens of thousands of orders, generated tens of millions in revenue, processed billions of dollars in data, and been used by tens of thousands of businesses with millions of customers.
Michael began his professional career at the tender age of 12, when he started his first business developing websites for small businesses, churches, and non-profits. He holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota, with further education from the Carlson School of Management in Business Management, Finance, and Accounting. Michael holds the designation Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) from the EC-Council.
Outside of work, you’ll find Michael hard at work to help others within his church, community, and family. He also takes advantage of any opportunity he can to go on a backpacking adventure, travel the world, photograph the northern lights, and even climb a mountain or two!
